Live Blogging

My desire of writing a diary takes it's shape here on the last day of 2011. I titled it Live Blogging for the very reason that this post will get its updates on the go (mobile/tablet combo). So, SLR to tablet and a direct post on the fly. Enjoy...!

5:45PM
Here goes my post right out of ECP, live, all set for the new year's eve with my folks.

5:50PM
I'm gonna be posting through the remaining of 2011 until we barge into the 2012! Have fun and enjoy these last moments of a year that's not gonna be there anymore. Amen

6:30PM
All set. Our tents have been built for the night and yeah I'll be right back from a little swimming with the kids.

7:00PM
By the beach, game of rummy, some munching n some coffee. The game begins now. Chow!

8:30PM
Back from the sea, what a wonderful experience. It's the first time in 4yrs I got bathed by the east coast beach here in Singapore. The tides were quite erratic, danced and pushed us back n forth. Love the sea always. Now time for some big dinner that our girls have cooked for all of us. Be right back!

9:30PM
जाने दिल में कैसी दल दल है
समुंदर मैं लहर लहर सी
लहर दर लहर मैं बूंद बूंद साथ है
मगर मन मैं बात बाट है!

11:50PM
Last 10mins of 2011 and we're hopeful to get some glimpses of the fireworks that happen at marina bay (where I saw the dawn of last 2 years)
Live every moment and love every moment. B'bye 2011. I'll be back in a moment when it's gonna be next year!

12:00AM 2012
It's 2012 folks. Excellent view at ECP. Wishes to everyone. Have fun!

12:20AM
It's not a resolution. But a question.
How different and how new are you gonna be in this new year!? Ponder over.
Signing off for now.
Will wake up for the rising sun...

A Picture...!

While clouds covered whole of the skies, her eyes looked out of the tall windows. She sat still assuming a portrait like posture straight out of a Ravi varma's painting. Unmoved, neither by feelings nor by the stormy wind that challenged to blow her out. Eyes filled with tears, tears that held on never falling out, she had just one question 'why me?'
The tiny little hand moved all over her face pinching, squeezing and vigorously beating her with smile. All that didn't pain any more than what she went through from inside and so she didn't react nor act. Like beating the dust out of an old photo-frame, her 6year old went on hitting all over her face without a pinch of realization that it was her mother who bore her for months inside and years outside.
'Your child can't speak' they said, 'she can't walk either', 'her mental condition isn't right' and she lost count of her only child's ailments thereafter. 'Enough!' She screamed. 'I'm gonna take care and I know her better, more than you all, more than god' she concluded and brought her back from the asylum.
'I'm here, all for you. Like a puppet, like a slave. Do what you feel to me. And I'll feel you thereby' she said and closed her eyes.
Slowly, the tiny hand tried touching her eyeballs digging those droplets of tears. Piercing sunlight peeked out of the clouds through the window into her eyes. 'Ma', she heard. Her eyeballs moved, a picture started to breath...

Is There Something...?

Is there something? Or is it nothing yet?
Is it still there or has it left?
Is it a good time to feel hopeless or is there a hope albeit?
Should the dam be damned for the tears to flow over it?

Every morning, like mourning
Through the day and evening
Nights, dark and horrifying
A week goes weakening

A heart that had once beaten, a life that existed
A multiplication that got divided, a sum had got negated
Whose mathematics went wrong and who gets punished?
A plot was laid and got you preyed!

There’s something, there’s some question
Some peace outside, pieces within
There’s some time left, until we wait
An answer we all await!

A Void!

A void got created, something that existed perished in no time when none wanted.
Who decided and who killed, who justified, who descended to take away that’s once given.
All will be absorbed, eaten and sucked, sometimes sooner, sometimes later.
But a void remains, shines and prides. I hate, you dislike, yet it emerges and wins all battles that you ever fight.
Some talk, some stay mute and others write. Relief still remains far from all’s sight.
Run from everywhere and everyone, away and farther than you’ve ever gone. The void grows bigger. A void that none can avoid.
While time heals everything, some old wounds pain more and always remain. The void doesn’t eat it, leaves it behind, and doesn’t wash it all. It fails, yet wins!
Who gave you the right? The one who gave you, it says. Abuse, it never cares.
It goes on and on sucking up all you ever had, one by one and leaves you with just its self. You refuse to take, but it’s all that remains.
A bloody heartless void remains with you, after you, like it did before you!

Inside...!

'How are you', she asked and there was no answer. He was silent at times when he was deeply suck in his world of thoughts that was his own, no one evaded and none entered. She probably asked few more questions, even interrogated may be. He knew that but just subconsciously. And chose to be mute. His being non reactive had upset her all the more and like always she had left the room much before he had realized.

A simple question as simple as 'How are you' whose answer does not even matter to the 98.96% of people who ask, would give way to a serious research in his inner world and make him detach himself from everything external to it. 'How am I' he had asked in turn. 'I'm probably good', 'Wait a minute, I'm not doing so good either.' 'Why? What is it that's really going wrong and why can't I just say I'm good? Is it so difficult to feel good and admit it?'

'Until an hour ago, I was happy and some question of uncertainty gave rise to another and caught me dragging into the whirlpool until I had no point of return and all answers got rejected. Some questions serve no good, instead spoil all happiness. Just when I had come out of my world wide web of thoughts she threw me back into it asking 'how are you'

He got up from his seat and went looking for her. She was somewhere outside and did not come inside his web. 'Inside here, you're different. You are what I think, I believe and I create. Out there you're yourself and that's not the 'you' I see or wish to believe'.

He looked and smiled at her. She did not say anything, came close, looked in his eyes, deep down and mesmerized, hypnotized, stared for long.

'May I come in? ' she asked, 'Yes' she said from inside...

The Dirty Picture…!

Yes, I have in my early days as a kid watched those few movies and innumerable songs of Silk Smitha who ruled the south Indian film industry like or a bit more than those days’ heroines! Though I never knew/read much about her, I did remember her tragic death due to suicide. When a biopic on her was to be made, lots of jaws went dropping. What more, it had sensuous and never-like-before Vidya Balan shedding off and romancing the genius of an actor Naseeruddin Shah. We virtually knew what to expect and what the movie would be like!

Yes, it’s the same old story of a poor ‘laachar’ ‘bechari’ small town girl making it big but in a wrong way and how she rules and how she sees the end. Yet, the dirty picture is made with lot of life and lot more entertainment filled all over. There are hardly any boring moments, (except when Tusshar Kapoor is on screen) and it makes for a good watch. The soul of the film lies in its dialogues and Vidya Balan’s versatility in portraying Silk – her life, rise n fall.

All the departments work well here - Right from the lead actress and her villainous hero, background music to the foreground songs, dialogues that make you think before you laugh (wonder how many recent movies did it) and then the soul. It’s a dirty world out there and we’re all dirty inside, but here’s a girl who’s bold enough to bring it out. And that’s the dirty picture.

Everything seems good but for a few hiccups. It relies on a predictable story and even traverses a predictable path. And a major disappointment is having Tushar kapoor! He wonders why he’s there in the movie as much as the audience does. And reads those dialogues like a rookie in an acting school!

Vidya Balan is definitely the hero of the movie and shares her screen comfortably with Naseeruddin Shah (after Ishqiya)! Vidya, you deserve another award just for daring to do that role and doing it with such originality and ah, what spice! Applause!!! Even Emran Hashmi does a decent job.

So that was the dirty picture. Milan Luthria has done a good job and I’ve loved this movie. For me, it’s a 4 on 5, all for Vidya! And that’s not dirty J

I AM!

I am jealous of how I once was
I am competing to be better than what I am
I am in Love with myself
I am my own critic
I am my world
I am my happiness and I am causing troubles by challenging myself
I am everything and I am the only thing
I am following a call, a voice that directs and tells me where I should be and what I should do and who I should be...
I am just that true disciple and a blind follower of that 'conscience'
Yes, I am!

Ghar se nikalte hi

Here comes another song composed by Rajesh Roshan and sung beautifully by my favorite Udit Narayan for a movie called 'Papa Kehte Hai'. This movie released and flopped during my high school days, but I can't seem to forget humming this song and it still feels fresh. So here goes...

Fools

Two foolish men were walking from opposite directions into a forest and were deep inside when they came face to face. They liked each other's face so much and shook hands and exchanged some foolish talks. As they walked together, they slid into some valley and went flowing down. With the help of each other, they got out and thanked god for bringing them together! They further smiled and walked on and exchanged some more foolish talks.

As time passed and the fools got to know each other well, they had good time in the jungle. In the midst of the forest was a pond which got them attracted and they decided to take bath. As the 1st man got undressed and all set to get inside the water, the other man started laughing unconditionally looking at his mate's back. He passed comments, made fun and kept nagging until he got himself ready to dive in when the first fool got a chance to see his back. The first fool was no different from the second and did same things, said much worse stuffs looking at the second fool's back. They ignored that their faces were being liked and got intolerable for their backs were being criticized! The fighting got physical. They had beaten up each other so much and got tired but hadn't given up. They had to find an answer 'whose back is dirty and whose back was clean'

A monkey that was watching all these sitting from a tree top looked like a good judge and they went on to consult the monkey. The monkey said, 'I can't see your backs. You have to run fast and get me all the bananas you could find in this forest. Whoever comes up with the most bananas will win and will be awarded the best back man'

They set out in opposite directions looking for the bananas. They climbed trees, they searched for baskets, they made their bags to carry more. Months passed and none of the fools thought he had enough to be the winner and kept looking for more bananas. It was time when their bags got filled with so much bananas that they were proud of. But, none was able to carry the bag anymore because the bag was bigger than their strength and they never reached the monkey who held their reward! All they did was fill their own bags with the weakness of the other!

In trying to prove others' weaknesses, we wear out our own strength and become weak in the process. And we believe we are wise in doing that, but the title here describes what reward we get in the end...!

You Are...!

You are by my side, on my stride
Just like, I have you as much
As I feel you...

Anywhere, anytime, just come over
None we seek, to be together, for each other
No barrier either
You are...

How could you be taken away
From me?
You are, and no worry could ever be

You are for me and only me
Just like, I've lost myself to you as much
As I've won you...!

PS: Another inspiration this time 'Tum Ho' from Rockstar!

Like Eternity...!

I’m just awed by this wow view peeping out of the window, looking at pretty much the same thing in different colours each second of the day like it’s an eternity! Like there’s no end to its freshness, how creative the creator should have been to make the same stuff look different to the same eyes that see them every-day and every-second. Like a desperate hope to see that it all never ends and it all remains or just gets better – those colourful, wonderful, poignantly standing tall trees behind whom the Sun takes birth every morning, or those rocks that get wet and bathed with every new rain and those unendingly open-wide skies that get painted each time like never before…

Like those far off high risers that get covered by mist and appear as though disappearing in a wink! Like those million shades of grey and white and black costumes those clouds wear or exchange with the blue sky at times! Like those showers, like that wind, like that eye-piercingly strong sunshine or like those dark nights with few hanging stars, yes it feels eternal! A Trans like feeling again and again and I reiterate more often coz all of these are never-ending and that’s eternity…!

Some Air...!

A fresh air had started to take birth from far across the hills n oceans and was set to blow, cleanse and soothe! It banged open the closed doors, windows and danced into curling curtains, chased out dark clouds! There was some pleasant whistle of blowing wind like some whispering flute, it was unseen but only felt! It hugged and tugged, clasped and pierced the soul, mind and heart!

Now the heart beats to its arrival, feet moves and shivers, gates to the good times are flung open and some winds have come, some fresh air is born…!

Tablets or Books?

Are you a student or a teacher, a businessman or a writer? Whoever you are, tablets are here for you! I prefer my 7" to an 11" one simply because its light n handy! As I prepare myself for the next week's training, I get reminded of my school days with those heavy books and trying hard to hold them to read at late nights and sometimes doze off without even turning off the room's light!

So here's why a tablet is made for you n me :

- There's no need to hold a heavy book, just get the ecopy onto your tablet

- You can of course bookmark or even search for a text like its on a computer and hold it like it were a book!

- Don't bother about that room light. Just lock the tablet n place it by your pillowside

- Switch to internet or any other application in case you don't understand your subject

- You can carry just one 350g device rather than a few kilograms of books!

- Are you in a meeting n want to take down notes? Don't keep buying scratchpads

- And finally spare those trees that get cut specially for your books

Hey I was not advertising here. Just being awed by the technology! Or you can assume I was boasting! :-)

ROCKSTAR Rocks!?

ROCKSTAR opens with a fresh look and a typical Imtiaz Ali’s signature all over it. The audience is overwhelmed with some wonderful dialogues that might remind us the fun of Love Aaj Kal (mango people for aam aadmi)! The story might be quite obvious but the treatment is not. Just in few minutes, one by one, a set of 14 songs run and unlike other directors who’ve failed to carry anything beyond 8 songs in a movie Imtiaz succeeds here. Of course due credit to the maestro A R Rahman who’s poured heart n soul into the album and to the background. If you complain there are too many songs in this movie, it’s probably not for you coz its poetry in motion!

A few things definitely stand out in Rockstar – Ranbir’s commendable performance, Imtiaz Ali’s creativity and ARR’s soul stirring score. Even the new girl Nargis Fakhri fills the screen with freshness; her acting skills could’ve been much consistent though! Songs have been used exceptionally well to take the story forward. Look out for ‘Kun Faya Kun’ which creates a trancelike feel! And then there’s Shammi Kapoor, who keeps your eyes glued in one of the smallest cameos he’s probably ever done!

So, no complaints? Does it make Rockstar a perfect 10 on 10? It might have, had the director and his editor cut down those last 15 minutes which go nowhere and totally uncalled for. Right after ‘Sadda Haq’ (which raised so much noise before the release but remains unjustified in the context), the movie which had risen to the peak of entertainment finds its valley and starts dropping to find a mediocre climax! Another point that’s not completely convincing is the ultimate pain behind the love that our hero has for a girl who’s with him almost all the time. And that’s a little let down considering the standard Rockstar sets for itself in the 1st half.

If you overlook those minute hiccups towards the climax, Rockstar is a good watch. Imtiaz Ali doesn’t have much of a competition this year and might even run away with lot of awards along with Ranbir Kapoor and ARR.

I enjoyed most part of the movie and a 3.5 out of 5! And yes, Rockstar rocks!

Some Clouds' Story...!

                                           Some clouds were heavy, foggy
For long they held up growing, accumulating
                                           Curtaining Sun, moon and stars
                                           Like closed eyes, covering tears!

                                           A whole city felt shadowed
All windows and doors were closed
Thunders that scared, loud they prayed, yet unheard
Whoever had to turn the switch on, left the clouds untouched!

And, finally he heard and decided
                                           Touched them, they all descended
                                           All fell down and showered
The curtains had fallen, Sun glowed
A day long story was thus told…

Ise...!

The day when you realize there's nothing to suffice on such a premise when there's a little surprise while the heart takes no advice coz nothing seems wise even if it means you'll rise, stuck in a cage like mice that looks out n cries for that little surprise I'm okay to compromise with rejoice, wise or otherwise that's the choice!

Mask...!

There lies a face that can't be seen,
There hides a world that's unclean,
Mask over another, wearing a new color...
What's real is not clear!

Year after year, some decades pass!
Beliefs get ripped, if you poke that nose!
Some questions remain unanswered...
But, is that what you chose?

When we know we know something,
Until we realize we knew nothing,
About a thing that we thought we were proud of,
That thing whose mask kept changing!

RA.One… Hits n Bugs!

Well there has been so much the world is talking about RA.One – good bad n even ugly! Good for being the costliest movie of bollywood, 3D and SFX, SRK in a super hero avatar and of course chammak challo! Bad for having no content or not being worthy of what it promises to be! And ugly because of its innumerable flaws despite being expensively marketed!
For me, the movie worked in parts and was bizarre in the rest. So I point them out separately here.

Bugs:
1. SRK’s Tamil, all I can say is ayyo!
2. A gaming company in UK that has a set of weird employees who know nothing beyond 2 characters. RA One and G one. Look out for the scene when these characters get their names! How amateur!?
3. The world sleeps while RA One comes out of the game and breaks parts of London and Mumbai just for the sake of killing a boy! Oh boy!!
4. Is G One a Robot or an alien or a human or an actual toy!? Keep guessing, coz the writers just didn’t know either.
5. SRK’s punjaban wife pronounces ‘konjam’ as ‘condom’! Such is the state of sense of humor the writers chose to go with.
6. People did talk about its excellent effects. But all in vain n looks like a cheap Hollywood stuff (especially that red-eyed kareena and the complete climax visuals).
7. Background score sucked repeating the same tune whenever RA One appeared on screen.
8. SRK’s one liners have been written to irritate rather than inspire.
9. And, an unbelievably stupid climax.

Well, to be fair I try to list out these hits:
1. The 3D version was done up quite competitively.
2. All songs sounded and looked good at well timed intervals.
3. SRK delivers as Shekhar Subramanyam in those scenes when he’s not trying to be Mr. Bean!
4. Kareena is a treat to watch be it her ‘booty goes pop pop’ or ‘chammak challo’ or those emotional scenes. She’s a savior. And so is that boy who portrays her son’s character. Just nice.
5. RA One taking form and chasing on the streets of London are applaudable. (Only limited to 1st half)
6. The chemistry and that insecurity in a father-son relation come out pretty well.
7. Pacing and keeping up some sort of suspense despite its predictable plot.
8. Just for being so ambitious.

What could’ve been a revolutionary Indian film falls way too short, thanks to the director who carries such a history. Getting Rajnikant to do an unwanted scene and Big B to render 2 lines might get some audiences, but what about quality? Who approved the flawed screenplay and those awfully silly dialogues? If only RA.One was half as mature as being ambitious, this could’ve been path breaking.

Aryan Khan might not be very happy ‘appa’, but all the best for your RA.Two! There’s always a chance of a better newer version! And with lesser bugs…!

ROCKSTAR – Reviewed

I finally got my original music album of this much anticipated work by the maestro, A R Rahman! And, it’s quite natural to hate almost all the songs when you listen to it for the very first time, until you change your opinion totally. That’s how ARR’s music grows on you. I was no different and I disliked this album calling it below average. But hey, in the last 10days I haven’t been listening to anything else other than Rockstar. Here’s what I thought:

Well honestly, Mohit Chauhan is not in my favourite singers list (not even in top 25) though there have been hardly a couple of his songs that I had liked. And when ARR tweeted the track listing, it was Mohit’s name all over the album. If I’m not wrong, this is for the 1st time, ARR has used one singer for so many songs in an album and also this is probably the lengthiest album he’s ever done with as many as 14 songs and also none of his favourite singers feature (sukhwinder singh, sonu nigam, shreya or chinmayi) So the album is one of its kind from the word go.

The 1st track (Phir se udd chala) opens with a pleasant hum in the background and Mohit Chauhan’s solo performance that goes quite well as an opening track. This 4 plus minute song runs with a lengthy mukhda penned most refreshingly by Irshad Kamil, who’s also the clear winner of this album. What surprised me was I couldn’t find his name on the CD cover. Nevertheless, a melodious opening song gives way to the next one.

You listen to the chords and a highly energized Mohit Chauhan singing to an enthusiastic crowd that joins him on the next track (Jo bhi main). This song gets a lot of acoustic guitar and drums that add to another inspiring poem by IK. This is one of the songs which I thought should have gone to someone like KK or Kunal Ganjawala and wondered why ARR stuck to Mohit. I only realized the answer later (read through…)

The next track by harshdeep kaur (Katiya karun) is quite peppy and sounds more typical of Imtiaz Ali’s creation than ARR’s. Until half way through this track I didn’t even feel it was composed by ARR. It’s meant to be a lively and girly song dedicated to the film’s female lead that somehow doesn’t leave a mark and remains an average number.

So finally, ARR’s voice emerges out along with his favourite Javed Ali (who’s my recent favourite singer). If you missed ARR in the ‘Arziya’ song of Delhi 6, here he is with a similar track supported by excellent lyrics. ‘Kun Faya Kun’ is one soulful song that doesn’t fail anywhere. Mohit Chauhan too joins for the antra portions and this nearly 8 minute long song makes you feel bad only once – that is when it ends with a fading voice of ARR!

Look out for song number 5 (Sheher mein) that is easily hummable and instantly likeable. It sounds like ARR composed 2 parallel tracks one for Mohit and one for Karthik when they sing same lines in different tunes. Interesting! It also reveals a lot about the film’s plot, thanks to those dialogues in the middle. Once again, hats off to the lyricist IK. A peppy little song!

A Czech folk legend (‘Hawa Hawa’) is what follows next which reminds me remotely of the Spanish portions that ARR used for ‘Jai Ho’. A foot tapping and energetic song, which promises to look better visually.

Next one ‘Aur Ho’ opens with Mohit Chauhan almost whispering into the microphone in one line and at the top of his voice in the other. Clearly, a quality singing! This song also works thanks to some passionate lines written by IK and hat’s off ARR!

There’s an instrumental track that follows next - ‘Tango for Taj’. Though this flows well as a background score, there have been innumerable instrumentals that ARR has given us earlier and this one just falls short.

‘Tum Ko’ is one song I looked forward to ever since I saw Kavita Subramaniam’s name in the list. And does she deliver? Right from the word go! Why did it take so long for KK and ARR to get back after giving great numbers like ‘Tu Hi Re’, ‘Kay Sera Sera’, ‘Ishq Bina’ ‘Pyar ye jaane kaisa hai’ and many more. As the sarangi starts, there’s a feel of ‘Tu Hi Re’ (from Bombay). Some really unusual lines by IK make this one all the more special. So, another soulful song in the album and yet another winner of a track! Kudos!!

Check out for ‘Dichotomy of fame’ which might feature the late legendary actor Shammi Kapoor playing shehnai and probably Ranbir on the guitar. A small jugalbandi that stands out in this long list!

ARR reappears once again with ‘Nadan Parinde’ calling all those who’re away to get back home! That’s the mood of this song. Check out for the drums by Sivamani and combination of guitars in this energetic number. Mohit Chauhan delivers well with his portions and the sync with ARR’s voice adds to the energy of this song.

‘Tum Ho’ is based on the earlier track ‘Tum Ko’ with different lines, yet same soul. This, according to me is Mohit Chauhan’s best. Flawless and soothing voice, excellent lyrics and beautiful composition! Do we need more!? So for those who didn’t like Mohit Chauhan before (including me), it’s time you change your opinion. Coz there’s one more song in the list.

And here comes ‘Saadda Haq’ that’s already become a chartbuster and why not! A highly energized Mohit Chauhan with heavy drums and guitars in the background and a truly rocking performance by Ranbir on screen, this is certainly making lot of noise. I wish Irshad Kamil walks with the best lyricist award for this song.

And then there’s ‘Meeting Place’ a rendition by Ranbir Kapoor based on a poem by Rumi which is applaudable. What I did not understand though was some noise in the background like a mobile phone vibrating. Was that intentional? Anyways!

So that was a long review of a much lengthy album. In conclusion, it’s a very good team effort lead by Imtiaz Ali. ARR is back (after Delhi 6) and gives Mohit Chauhan an album of life time. Irshad Kamil writes few lines that strike hard. So a truly rocking album is born in the name of ‘Rockstar’!

My Rating: 9/10

Celebrating our 2 years of togetherness, we went roaming around in the Singapore city. From late lunch at Bali Thai to Vivo city to marina bay sands sky park, it was relaxing and surprisingly my 1st casual leave being in Singapore!

As I was transferring the pics from my camera, I noticed there was a folder named 'our first wedding anniversary' and I realized how time flies! 2 years like 2 days!

Here are a few snaps of the day...

Who`s First...!?

Well the title doesn't pose a difficult question. Does it? Asked if you want to be first, we would say yes most often even before thinking twice or questioning back!

I want to be first in everything - in class, in a race, in promotions and nearly every other thing that's progressive and rewarding.

Yet many times we fail to be the first ones! Like calling a friend or trying to make it up with someone or even in getting our goals when we don't always want to take the first step but wait for it to happen. Let him call me first, let her come to me first coz its not my mistake. And that promotion should happen naturally!

Sounds peachy or same old stuff!? It might for sure but these questions remain for long unanswered and unattended. So it only makes sense to keep asking over n over again until they die off.

So when will I take that first step to stand up and say yes its me, I'm the one whos`s first and who doesn't wait for it to happen but will make it happen myself! Amen!

Celebrating Deepawali...!

So there came yet another festival, so another holiday and more reasons for celebration! Also my 4th Deepawali here in Singapore! We all had planned up for a get together similar to last year (which of course was at the tioman island in Malaysia) and had an absolutely amazing time together and hence this quick posting on the fly on my latest android tablet.

And another speciality of this post is that its neither from my latest speech to text conversion nor the traditional typing, but its done up with the even more recent swype technology that aims to get nearly 40 words per minute with a great accuracy. I was surprised when I used it first and even today. So my posts are coming in from various forms :)

Before I forget, happy deepawali world and like my friend said, 'a bright one'!

A thought to the Thoughts...!

Many of the thoughts that get lost are the ones that not everyone else thought but only few did and since they never thought their thoughts were unique, everyone else thought they never thought! While those with the lost thoughts never thought twice before letting go of those thoughts since there was no dearth to their thoughts that were born every nano second yelling and crying to get caught, only the thoughts knew they can't be duplicated nor be born once again before an eventual death.

Have you ever thought about it they question and feel disappointed with the answer thats mostly against them. While they never made any conscious attempt to be born, they couldn`t be stopped either. They came out anywhichways in many colors and with many desires before they got ignored and trashed for being themselves.

And those who killed never thought what those thoughts would've thought! For once, lets give those thoughts a thought!

Sadness...!

What's with this sadness
that it never ends
Is it a fantasy, what does it think?
With time it grows strong n thick!

Times we spent in tears
When we didn't know why we cried
So small we were like infants
Yet we weren't spared

When happy moments arrived
We were a bit scared
Should we smile now or beware?
Never thought, would it even care!

Now we've grown older
It's become more familiar
We might not be together
It remains, between us, within us and forever!

Some Mute Songs...!

Some mute songs played, late at nights
Standing at the window, I listen sometimes
A dark mountain that was once colorful
Just a few hours ago, while the sun set to fall!

Like it's been here since long
All night I stand, stare prolong
Those little blinks down the hill
Of moving vehicles queued along

Absolute darkness outside, like inside
None ever knew, they saw what didn't reside
And some thunders roared, lightenings stuck
In splashes, I saw trees that shook

In a moment it was raining
Falling on the rocks, like someone singing
The night sailed, evolved n moved
Eventually the darkness dissolved
I stood still, my ground had rotated n revolved
It all looked same, time had evolved!

Some mute songs played just again
Lyrics in my mind weave some new line!

Gham Mere...!

Gham mere saath hee rehna
Khushi ki mujhe aadat to nahi
Jabse hee main aaya hoo
Bitaayi har pal sang tere hee

Jo tu aagaya hai, puri karle teri tamanna
Gale se khoob laga le, warna na kahi tu jaana
Main bhi tujhe na aise jaane doonga
Bin tere jaam ka kya karunga?
Gham mere...

Gar main has bhi doo, dikhta hai tu hee
Kuch bhi haasil ho, rehta andar hee kahi
Kabhi dar banke kabhi apno se nikalke
Aajaoge aakhir humsafar banke
Gham mere...

Mere saath hee dam lega tu,
Main rehna chahu tere liye
Ek din phir bhi jaana to hoga,
Jalaadenge wo saath tujhko mere
Par unke paas na jaana, saath mera dena, khush wo sabhee ho
Mere jaisa dost bhi kaha tujhe milega, zindagi ke baad bhi apni koi zindagi ho!
Gham mere...!

A Complacence…!

Last night when the world fell asleep
My eyes blinked, thoughts went deep
Slowly, crawling moon strolled…
Out of my window, a long night passed!

The dawn was different, some storms arrived
Showers n leaves knocked n cried
No sun shined, moon had died
A long wait was waiting to end

Drenched n bathed I walked on the roads
None I saw, heartbeats rose
A world of rains, a world of love
As her feet touched my ground
Somewhere from the sky she landed
A heart I had lent, hers she handed!

A little grin, a tiny hug, an affirmative complacence!
Thus a void ends, a new world arrives
An intimate, ultimate tranquility prevails

Ek Din Aap Yoon

A beautiful track composed by my one time favorite composer-duo Jatin-Lalit for SRK's Yes Boss, which again is one of the very few of his movies that I admire. Each song was melodious n rich in lyrics, thanks to Javed Akhtar!
Here's my attempt on my darling keyboard (which I had hesitated to post so far). But nevertheless, imperfection is part of life! Just listen on...

Dil Deewana

So, here goes another song again one of my favorite songs by the versatile SPB. Most of us love this movie 'Maine Pyaar Kiya' as much as we love its songs. Though there are 2 versions of this song (another by Lata) I kind of love the SPB version for its anger/madness and mischief.

My take on it... And again, I pledge to improvise!

Mothers...!

Twilight moon across the window at eye level, never so bright like it was a day, up above thousands of feet between two mothers - one mine and others', I feel I'm being loved unconditionally making it difficult to decide where I should fall!
Choosing one's mother wasn't an option, but today it is. Becoming someone else's with ease coz they lent more cushion than your mother's lap isn't being materialistic but realistic. After all, it's your butt!
An unanswerable question always ends within self, everyone's free to select n deselect later just in case! There's no right, no wrong but when it's a mother, there's only one answer... I know, you know and none disagrees!

Compassion…!

Many a times, we are restless, stressed, insecure and even frustrated. One thought/one feeling giving way to another making things worse, much worse than the situations are thoughts mostly! On the other hand, at times when thoughts grow towards the other extreme of satisfaction, peace and accomplishment thoughts become neat and progressively positive. Things that one should be proud of, feel gifted for, happy about give way to a sense of compassion!

Does it sound preachy! Well it does, but mind does need it at times when it looks away from people once were dear to its own self, looks down on things it craved for hell bent and finds no good reason for its existence despite all the reasons it’s got to do so! That sentence could be heavily complicated, but not as much as an ocean of thoughts. Just add a tablespoon of compassion to it and stir well. The ocean starts tasting good like you’ll lick it n sip it for life!

Am I shri shri, nope certainly not! I have one shri in my name though, so I deserve a pardon on this. Yes or no might depend on the level of your compassion for this write up.

A word that got Ms. Rai a Ms. World was nothing but compassion that she used so brilliantly in the final round of elimination (when she didn’t have that accent, thankfully)

So, let’s begin a thought that eventually progresses towards a compassionate thought, feeling, action and world!

Amen!

Bites10...

Some have more, some have less. But everyone has it...

Some show, and some won't. Some hide, some can't...

Some grow with it, it grows with them. And they stay together...

Some shout, some confine. The true color is never seen...

Sometimes they win, they loose. But it wins, always...

Something that goes when you go - Ego!

I can't tell you...!

I can't tell you, how much I love you!
I just can't tell you that I love you!

All the warmth, every breath you take
Make me love you
The soft touch, the feel of your presence
Tell me how much I love you
But just that, I can't tell you how much I love you!

When you walk out of the room to another
I miss you coz so much I love you
When you aren't holding my hand, sitting across the table
I need you by my side for I love you
Yet, I can't tell you, how much I love you!
I can't live without you, and that much I love you!

PS: Yes, the 1st line isn't mine. But the rest are!

Bites9...

What I do is of most importance than what I say!

There's a woman behind every successful man. And he's successful for not letting her step ahead of him.

Be yourself... the world will understand you some day!

How much we know of others and the conclusions we draw out of it are just useless, coz they are constantly changing while our conclusions remain!

If the answer is no, you are unable to understand the question, if the answer is yes you've indentified who you are.
The question was, are you insane!

If you're wondering why my bites are always red n bold, I'm not trying to make peace with you anyways!

To Tweet or Not!?

For several days, I had this rather unimportant question haunting me. One might ask, what’s the big deal? What do you lose by tweeting anyways? It’s in fact more fun, to keep the world informed everything about you. There’s so much more like retweeting those tweets that you liked, reply to your followers, uploading photos instantly and even post something interesting you came across with a tiny URL! With all such fun to do and on the go features of Twitter which revolutionized the world in its 5yrs of existence why would someone as weird as myself wonder if one should tweet or not!?

Yes, retweets are fun, photos are fun too. And replies? I was super excited when my favorite celebrity’s son replied to my tweet. World might look so closely knit.

But, each time I got on to tweet, I found myself in a fix with its 140 character limitation. For people like me who prefer calls and lengthy e-mails to SMSs, hanging out with friends to Facebook or whatever, micro blogging Twitter was no tool to reckon with. I couldn’t put my thoughts in less than 140 characters. If you tell me there’s long tweet option, well I didn’t really care to make it so complicated for my followers (including myself)

My poems were dying, my reviews got shortened. And my mind that thinks 1 page (and not beyond) started thinking 140 characters. A loyal blogger had become a regular tweeter. Well that wasn’t for the bad. But micro blogging against blogging? I said no! Juggling between the two I did no justice to my blogger which undeniably has become an addiction and a part of my’self’!

I’ve almost bid my farewell to twitter and my friend has asked me to delete my account so that he would un-follow me! Well, I have my reasons for not being a micro-blogger. Nevertheless, you guys catch me here on blogger all the time!

Later!

Chalo Dilli…!

So, here’s a latest flick I’d got to watch, courtesy EROS bollywood channel from SingTel. I had heard some good reviews about the movie but hadn't really got excited enough to push my butt to the theatres. Yet, I wished to watch it in a much peaceful mini theater which I call is my home. So coming into the movie, right from the first scene there’s some honesty and reality about it.

Lara Dutta gets your attention on her beautiful corporate lady boss character spot on. Within 10 minutes into the movie, you feel some genuineness about the characters and their mannerisms. Then enter our hero, a start in himself in this genre – Vinay Pathak. It could remind you of his own Bheja Fry style but his versatility and an unparallel comic timing help the plot from slipping! Another winner throughout the movie is the dialogue writer, who might have stuck to PJs at times but do get hilarious most often than not. The plot itself revolves on a road trip with 2 extremely opposite people in it. And some laughter to keep you awake.

After all the strengths, there’s something that goes missing half way in the movie when it gets somewhat predictable and some unwanted scenes of at least about 15min. Another spoilsport is the set of songs. Why does bollywood always have songs at regular intervals, be it any movie!? The songs neither impress nor take the story anywhere. Apart from these couple of hitches, the movie for me was a winner.

Be it Lara Dutta’s sophistication or Vinay Pathak’s stupid innocence, you might be caught repeating those lines yourself ‘isme kaunsi badi baat hogayi ji’ and laugh at/with them until a minor twist in the climax to get some of us emotional. My friend didn’t agree to the idea that there had to be some emotional feel at the end. But I didn’t complain and it worked well just when the movie was about to slip off!

It’s a good watch with some hilarious moments and even attempts to move you to an extent. So ‘Chalo Dilli’ for me worked.
If it didn’t work for you, ‘isme kaunsi badi baat hogayi ji’ J

Ah Di MAMA...!

It was few minutes past 9PM on a weekday. Browsing through the channels to get rid of boredom, I landed up on channel 8 teasing my wife to watch Chinese dramas which are good even if we had no understanding of the language to which she resisted initially. But just a few minutes into this one where 2 kids are seen fighting with each other like any small boy and girl would, our attention was drawn instantly. But what followed next was a series of tragedies and I said we are not watching this drama anymore. Next day, it was my wife who was stuck at 9 PM sharp when Ah Di, who’s the protagonist, is met with an accident and how her adopted kids cry for her calling ‘Ah Di Mama’. We almost had tears in our eyes.

So this drama had become part of our lives and many times in a day we would call each other ‘Ah Di Mama’. It meant ‘Devotion’ in English. The devotion Ah Di (played brilliantly and stunningly by Zoe Tay) has to her life. Ah Di is someone who loves her problems like no one else, who can take up any difficulty onto herself even for those who might hate her to the core. It’s kind of a too good to be true character. But I read Zoe Tay’s interview somewhere when she said that she believed such people existed in the real world and that’s how she was able to play the character with ease. And, what a performance she’s put up!

Even the other young ones who play her adopted children show a class act and make the drama believable, though the story itself was quite hard for me to relate to. A couple of love triangles in the house, a deception and few villainous characters make up for the story. But what wins is the direction. It’s paced well, the story is told in 25 episodes with good mixture of suspense and emotions.

Ah Di’s first daughter played her role so well and deserves applause. A girl who plays ‘shanshan’, (originally from Taiwan) is extremely gorgeous and pretty. The casting was just apt and made up for an intriguing watch.

Just as we knew it was the last episode yesterday, there was some curiosity on how it would end. And I must say, they had a perfect ending. Ah Di can literally forgive anything. Forgiveness, that turns evil into good. And the drama concluded leaving a good feeling behind, prompting you to ask few questions to yourself.

Can you be so forgiving? Can you be courageous enough to consider others’ wrong doings as your own responsibility? People might laugh at you calling you a foolish person for being so good, but if you can hold on to your goodness, no matter how bad the enemy is, one day or the other he’ll start worshipping you. And, that’s devotion!

Thanks for a wonderful lesson… We miss you, ‘Ah Di Mama’! And like you say,
Here n there, when Ah Di mama is near, there’s no fear!
