Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - Tum Nahi Samjhoge!

‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, tum nahi samjhoge’ that’s what the lead characters tell each other and yes KJ, they were right – I could never understand this movie. How it went on to become a blockbuster is beyond my understanding coz I saw it in your movie. Here’s what I saw:

1.       ‘Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, pyar bhi ek baar, shadi bhi ek baar!’
Come on Rahul, you fell in love twice and married twice and broke your own freaky logic!

2.       ‘Rahul Anjali ka pehla pyaar hai, tum unn donoko milaoge na beta.’ This is what Tina wants her 8yr old daughter to do and believes Anjali would remain unmarried for 8 long years!! And leaves no trace of Anjali for the poor or rather overly matured 8yr old. Thank god, there’s a photo of Anjali she can use to reach her just on her engagement day! Bingo!!!

3.       ‘Pyar dosti hai, love is friendship.’ And Rahul doesn’t find love in his best friend. Agreed Anjali was tomboy, ugly and what not though it doesn’t take her a second to seduce the widower and make him fall for her in the 2nd half. Thanks for the designer sari and long hair!

4.       The biggest responsibility in the movie lies on the shoulders of an 8yr old wonder-kid who calls her dadi sexy in the prayer hall, tells her dad that she’s not his wife and performs namaz to ruin someone’s wedding! She was sure that Anjali might’ve agreed to marry another man but is still in love with her dad! Who in the world has that IQ at 8, way to go!

5.       A 6 or 8yr older teaches Rahul how to say I love you! Shame on you Rahul, and how did you flirt with so many girls 8yrs ago when you can’t even say I love you in dumb charades? Dumbo!!!

6.       Anjali’s mother knows her daughter is not happy to marry Aman but doesn’t know who the man she wanted to marry was! Thud!

7.       Anjali and Rahul start merry making in the middle of a summer camp that’s meant for kids and she runs deep in some forest to find herself in Aman’s arms. Well done Aman, you know your way to summer camp!

8.       A man kisses Rahul for the line ‘patita paavana seetaram’ of raghupati raghav rajaram song! Can it get any weird than this!?

9.       Here’s a summer camp that has 5 to 18 (or whatever) year old kids, a granny, an ex-lover and fiancé of the camp teacher and hey, it’s more rainy here in summer than sunny! Poor Rahul even catches cold!

10.   The list can go on and on with minute things like Anjali and Aman flirting while someone’s on the phone, a teacher in micro minis flirting and even seducing the Principal, a hero who cries more than the heroine, a kid who’s intelligent than everyone else in the movie!

Well, I know movies are meant for entertainment and can’t be completely real. But without any substance or logic, seriousness or genuine humor our films still become super blockbusters! Thumbs up KJ for being brave to go with such serious flaws and hats off for convincing the world like it was flawless…

Kuch bhi hosakta hai!!!

haha, yes I'm definitely not one of those KKHH-DTPH-K3G lovers! But there's something they know that convinces audience despite innumerable flaws thats also illogical for ppl like u n me. But if I show you my scrap book of class 12, 80% of my classmates wrote KKHH was their fav movie and I failed to understand why! But to be fair, I did love Kajol immensely in this apart from the music.

wait... stop... its me here.... said...

Hats off!! well written.. you seem to be a very good observer as you have looked into a lot of details in the movie.. a few of these also struck my mind when i saw this movie.. but but but,, sorry!! i would like to enjoy the movie the way it is.. it is just entertainment for me which sets me free for sometime from my serious or boring life.. I enjoy this movie everytime i see it and i am sure i will watch it and enjoy it even further, even after reading your piece..
