2008 <_*-*_> 2009

As the 31st December '08 approached, we jumped into a celebration mood though my colleagues hinted me that Singapore looked dull compared to Dec '07... blame it on recession - again! These days anything that happens or doesn't happen is solely due to dud - recession!!! Whatever! It didn't stop us from taking a break to head towards one of my favorite food destinations in Singapore, Annalakshmi for the lunch! Well the speciality of this place is you eat what you want and you pay want you like! You got it right! Absolutely no compulsion on the amount... just pay what you feel like! I hogged enough and we did pay decently enough ;)

With the last Sunset of '08, I headed alone towards this park cum museum which stood right beside my office and I had never stepped in before! I had an hour to kill before my frnz joined me for the celebration at Clarke Quay including Mahinder Bhai's pending party at the Moghul's in the same locality! This one at the entrance of Canning Park... See this... was inaugurated by a native Indian This is how Clarke Quay and Central Shopping mall look like from inside the Park. Wow! This was one of those earlier (war) days' ringing Bells... Needs no explanation... Does it look like a shooting area? But it used to be... I tried to look steady, but was again Shaky Shriky... Ugh... I've gone so lean!! Only this photo told me :( This is not as good as it was meant to be... again!? Hey I was heading towards the restroom but strangely some heavy beats distracted me... sounded like typical Indian music, and yes it was some Tamil song! So I walked along to see this big gathering organized by Singtel. It was some show playing Top100 Tamil songs of '08. All the people you see here were Indians... kewl! This is a zoomed version from the same spot. There you go... '08 was coming to end... We did have a blasty party with Mahinder bhai as host and Tej, Shastry, Vishy & myself as honorable guests at the Moghul's. Happy New Year 2009!!! Fireworks finally... Pardon the poor photo :) The Same Central and Clarke Quay lit up... Central poses to the gathering...! This is from where we had our first dinner/supper of 2009... cheers! Umesh and bhabhi along with kids (bebu and chetu) joined us here... at 2:30 AM!
