Wishing a happy 11-1-11 to the world! Wishing a happy new year or a Christmas or Diwali to someone holds more importance and stresses on the ‘day’ rather than that someone and our way of forwarding the same message to 1000 people illustrates this fact! It also means have a good beginning or have a good celebration, good health. If that has to be so, why not have a good beginning and good health and a great celebration every day!? Why only on selected few days?
Or is it because we just love the number 1? The world’s number 1 player, no. 1 company, 1st ranker and so on. We’re all obsessed with the 1st so much so that we don’t wish anyone who comes later. Like my college mate who never came 1st in the marks list but had many other talents that no one ever cared for! He was 4th in sports, 5th in studies, 8th in music and 9th in quiz but wasn’t 1st in anything…
Well I don’t hate number 1 because for many years I too believed my lucky number was 1 (though the calculation said its 2) and I believed it had to be 1 since number 1 mattered to me as much as it did to everyone to the extent that all other numbers gained no importance. And I don’t want to do that today.
Like 1st January marked a new year, today is 11th and I wish everyone a happy 11th coz it holds importance too if you really look at it. It looks like some magical number 11-1-11, so why ignore it!
Like every important day, today is also important and everyday is! So I wish this day brings lots of happiness and good health what if it’s not 1st, its 11th and a happy 11-1-2011…
Love, Amen!
