Luck…!

How many times haven't we heard a few or all of these?

How lucky you are to get such a wife!

He was lucky to become such a huge star!

This dumb ass became a manager just because of luck!

I bought a lucky draw ticket and lost again!

It's quite annoying when someone points a finger at you and says you're here because you're lucky! No one will feel good about it if their success is attributed solely to the luck factor but everyone wants to be lucky! People easily attribute any or all of their failures to being unlucky in life or school or profession!

Dictionary defines 'Luck' as an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon. So every day is unpredictable in few terms and predictable in few others. So everyday everyone is lucky or unlucky depending on what they won or what they lost! But hang on… did it not depend on what we did, what we thought, how we reacted or acted, what we decided to do or not do?

Instead of rubbing off a successful person for being lucky or a failed guy to be unlucky, why not look at their minds and understand what they did to be there? It doesn't mean you understand a Sachin Tendulkar and become one, at least don't call him lucky for what he's done! Everyone is born to be different from each other and hence even twins can't have 100% similar lives! Each of us is special and we have a balanced bag of failures n successes.

Let's get lucky today and not buy a ticket that promises free grand prizes for the luckiest one, instead do what it needs to be certain to earn the prize! By buying the ticket I'm not sure if I'm going to win or not but by not buying it I'm sure I'm not going to lose anything, neither the price of the ticket nor the prize!

I'm happy to be a non-luck-believer coz I don't attribute my success to some non-existent factor, nor my failures to some unknown devil called being 'unlucky'!

And as the saying goes, I am because of what I am and I am not because of what I am not!
