It was a click-world sometime back and for a few years when one part of the world got connected to its other extreme with a few clicks n keys! Through internet, through webcams and social networking sites, friends that would’ve probably departed forever assuming they might never meet in their lives got connected, relatives who fought over petty things came in to terms and ex-mates who bet would never see each other secretly peeked into one another’s kids’ b’day albums!
What’s happening where, who’s thinking what, who you should hire and who not can be found in no time! Facebook has even accounted for 1 in 5 divorces in the US recently! As easy it gets to know n get hooked onto someone, as easy it is to get away from them (and probably still stay connected – an irony!)
And the latest buzz is here – you don’t need to spend so much energy clicking anymore! Just touch! Yes, touch n feel! So keep in touch has become a literal phrase and you touch your friends, zoom them in, and move them around in their albums! Many such simulating applications are being written that are growing overnight, competing with each other and who wins? Customer…?
Well, not really coz someone who’s just bought a revolutionary gadget finds it outdated in less than an year or a few months when the touch gets quicker, clearer and better! So who’s benefited? The one who’ s making it and selling it to the world, making the world buy them and believe it’s the best thing that has happened to the mankind just before taking a U-turn later to declare his own gadget has been replaced by a new and more efficient one by his own company! Uff!
So the one who touched, also burnt his finger to make a resolution that he wouldn’t touch it anymore and will find a better one or never yield to buy something worth his half a month’s salary to feel embarrassed when his friend takes him to the same store next year to buy a new touch while his touch isn’t even getting manufactured anymore!
So, the gadgets peeking out of the stores ask – ‘do you want to touch me?’
Well, whose fingers are they anyways!
