It's not easy to be yourself like they say. Why is it so if you may ask, while the answer lies within. If you're yourself, chances are you may not be liked by all and even if you're appreciated for what you really are, there are most certainly those other traits the same 'you' would possess that might attract hatred from the very same 'those' who are the admirers. Then you fall back and ask yourself was it a great idea to have been yourself!? One answer screams out 'yes' because you were liked truly and another big 'no' echoes for loosing out - being unable to conceal!
Had you just been able to hide that one little tiny trait, you wouldn't be hated, you would be loved. You would've made it in the interview and yielded that dream job, you would've been recognized ahead of your colleague, you would've even closed the deal with a tough customer! Alas! You curse yourself for not faking it, for being honest and transparent! So was it worth it you ask, for being yourself!
Next such encounter along the way, you quickly had given up and faked it pretty well getting all that you ever wanted. Or you're still yourself, even more than before and you don't care what you could never get coz you have what you would never loose - yourself! You wanna fake it or show it!? Look into the mirror and answer...
