You haven’t slept, yet. You've turned away
I see you’re sobbing, I say sorry
You don’t listen or respond
You keep crying, make me guilty
Of the vows that I took, and promised not to
cause you sadness
To see that you always smiled and were taken
care
At times I fail, like a human. While this bond
is much beyond
I caress your soft hand and you pull back
to rub your wet eyes
I gently touch your cheeks from behind and
plant a kiss
You shove my hand away
Silence prevails
I have said sorry once, I can’t go on. My ego
gets hurt
I wait for you to turn back and hug me, with
acceptance
But just silence prevails
Sometime later you turn back and check on
me
If I was really snoring, when I was
And I try to touch you another time, while
you were deep asleep
A whole night is thus spent.
The moon waited outside to see us make up
The trees sent some leaves through the
windows to show they cared
But the night didn't wait. It ran out in silence
A hot Sun pierced from the horizon
I see that you had woken up, to get my
breakfast
I look at you, you look at me
And the love can’t be paused anymore
We break promises each day, yet make new
ones
Not another night, we shall spend apart
But like a cycle’s wheel, that night is
here again
I turn everywhere in darkness, not to find
you anywhere…
Only, silence prevails
